Though it won’t be officially official until we post an actual article, I’d like to announce the launch of the It Makes Your Nose Tickle blog!
Our goal is to create a blog that everyone can enjoy by posting and providing commentary on overall news and curiosities from throughout the web. Topics will eventually include the Internet, Technology, Gadgets, Music, Art, Sports, Politics… pretty much anything that interests us that we feel would also interest our fellow fellows.
It Makes Your Nose Tickle is inspired by the popular Marquette University Radio show of the same name, as was hosted by Kelly and Rachel. While no longer on the air, the unique combination of friendly, amusing banter and cutting edge music gained a cult following throughout the campus and through the web broadcast. Eventually, we hope to have Kelly and Rachel lend their unique perspective to the IMYNT blog as occasional contributors, but for now…
The IMYNT Team Includes:
Kurt - Administrator
As a professional web and graphic designer, Kurt spends most of his time finding ways to be distracted from the job-at-hand by browsing the internet, reading way too many blog feeds and keeping in contact through his various identities throughout the interweb. He would have liked to create a custom design for IMYNT, but simply could not because of… you know… the laziness.
How To Comment:
It Makes Your Nose Tickle uses the default Wordpress comment system. In order to become a commenter, you must first “audition” by submitting a worthy comment to an article. Fill out the form with your name (or nickname) and email. Your email address is only used for identification. You can optionally add a link to your homepage or blog. Then, add your comment!
Comments that are insightful, funny, to-the-point and on topic are most likely to be approved. It can take 24 to 48 hours for your comment to be approved, so be patient if it doesn’t show up right away! If it doesn’t show up after 3 days, try again with a better comment! Once your first comment is approved, you’ll be able to comment away on any IMYNT post, as long as you use the same name and email. One caveat: No-one is immune to the BanHammer, so keep those comments up-to-par or you’ll be kicked out on your arse!
More To Come!

Well, It Makes Your Nose Tickle didn’t win the Extendis Custom Wordpress theme contest, no thanks to those of you who didn’t vote! You know who you are. Bunch of rubes, you are!
We’re not sore about it though (rubes!), so IMYNT is still going to dive head first into the shallow end of the blog pool, regardless of crappy Wordpress templates. Following a more formal launch in the coming weeks, expect the articles to start moving from this current mild trickle to at least a slightly-more-moderate dribble.
So, check back often for updates as It Makes Your Nose Tickle works towards being one of the best blogs in your list of feeds that you never read!

It Makes Your Nose Tickle is in the running for a free custom Wordpress design, and we need your votes to help us win!
Extendis a design studio from Croatia, ran a promotion last week where people could sign up to win a free Wordpress template. Since we are sick of trying to find a pre-existing template to fit our awesomeness, we decided to give it a shot.
There appeared to be some confusion on how to vote for It Makes Your Nose Tickle to win the free custom Wordpress design from Extendis. Lets explain how the contest works:
I signed up to be in the running for the contest at this page. You can read the article, which outlines the contest rules, and all of the comments that follow are entries from all different people wanting the free Wordpress template. You can see my entry about halfway down as “Kurt McNamara commented:” Please read my entry so you understand what It Makes Your Nose Tickle is all about and why we need a custom design.
To clarify, you’re not voting for who currently has the best Wordpress design. You’re voting for, based on the entries, who deserves to win a new custom design for their blog. If we win, the current design at itmakesyournosetickle.com will go away and be replaced by the one professionally designed by Extendis.
This link will take you to the voting area. Please read the instructions (the Extendis people added new instructions) and you can vote for up to 2 entries from the previous contest page. If one of those you choose is It Makes Your Nose Tickle, that would be awesome!
To vote, you need to add a comment using the form on the bottom of the page. Put your name (first name is fine, or even your online nickname), your email address (which is only used to verify the comment), and then put who you vote for in the COMMENT box. DON’T put your vote in the “Site URL” box. The Site URL box is where you would put a link to your own personal website, MySpace page, etc if you choose. This is typically how all Wordpress comment entries work, even here on It Makes Your Nose Tickle.
When you are done, hit Submit (your comment may not appear immediately, so don’t submit twice. It may take up to 24 hours). Again, thanks to those who already voted, and if you still haven’t voted I hope this explains things better if you choose to vote
Thanks again!
